How much will a survey cost?

Surveys come in all shapes and sizes and therefore there is no one set standard for pricing. Every survey project is priced on a case by case basis. General ideas for pricing are as follows: (These are general ballpark prices and are not guaranteed) Mortgage Reports: $1,000 Boundary Surveys: $1,000 - $2,000 Plot/Site Plans: $2,000 - $3,500 Certified Surveys: $2,500 - $3,500 ALTA: $1,500 - $5,000

How do I know what kind of survey I need?

There are times where lenders or realtors may request that you need a certain type of survey for lending purposes or for due diligence in real estate transactions. If that is the case they should help guide you as to which type of survey you need. These would likely be a mortgage report, ALTA or boundary survey area. If you have questions pertaining to where to put a fence, how much space you have for building on your property or where your property boundary is then you are in the boundary survey, plot plan or certified survey area. If you are still unsure, please give me a call and we can talk through your survey needs to come up with the best course of action.

How long will a survey take?

In terms of how quickly a survey will get scheduled; that is dependent on the time of year, current project load and the size of the survey project that you need. Every effort is made to get your project scheduled as quickly as possible from the time a contract is signed and in place. In terms of how long will the survey take once on site depends solely on the size and scope of the project. A simple boundary survey could take a few hours where a more intricate ALTA or Certified Survey could take days. You would be notified every step of the way about progress made and what the estimated completion time is.

How long will it take to get the results of my survey?

Every survey project is different with various levels of difficulty. For smaller boundary surveys where we are simply locating existing property corners, you can typically expect those corners to be located and flagged by the end of our site visit. More complex survey projects may require additional time. We will discuss the expected timeline with you at the beginning of the project and keep you informed as work progresses. For surveys that require a drawing, you can generally expect the completed drawing within about one week after the field work is completed.
